We're delighted to share that the Christchurch Casinos Charitable Community Trust has awarded the Cust Community Pool a $1,000 grant towards the cost of repairing and reopening our 70-year-old pool.
This year the Trust received 481 applications requesting a combined total of over $2.9 million in funding. To be chosen as one of their grant recipients — alongside so many other worthy community causes across Canterbury — means a great deal to us, and it's not something we take for granted.
Every dollar counts towards our $108,000 repair. This grant lifts our total raised to $27,600 and brings the day the pool reopens a little closer for the families, school kids and swimmers who've made it the heart of summer in Cust since 1955.
We're also honoured to have been invited to send two representatives to the Trust's annual grantee celebration, recognising the work being done in communities like ours.
